How to Consciously Deal with Emotional Upheaval

By Kip Mazuy

Source: http://www.spiritualnow.com

"First, realize
that someone or something
is not making you feel this way.

You are feeling this way
out of a reaction
to what is happening.
Blaming only keeps
you unconscious.

Second,
be honest and
accept what you feel,
this is most important.

Don't try and create
"positive emotions."
This is just the ego
trying to impose something
it thinks should be here
on top of what is really here.

You have to really
allow yourself to feel
what is honestly here and accept it.

Perhaps at first what you feel
will go and you will find
a whole new set of thoughts
and feelings underneath it.

Such as if you feel angry
at someone for treating
you a certain way,

after allowing that anger
you may realize that
the anger was there
because you did not want
to accept the feelings
of rejection
and loneliness
that were really there.

So allow yourself to feel that,
without trying to change it,
get rid of it, figure it out,
understand it, even own it.

Just allow yourself to feel
what is here as sensation.

Accept that this is
what simply is
in this moment.

There is no doing involved
it is simply what is here.

If you do this,
you will instantly feel peace.
The moment you accept
and allow yourself to experience
even the first emotion,
there is peace.

And as you allow,
and feel what is here,
ultimately what you will find
that is here is sensation,
the sensation of energy moving,
and that is bliss,
that is love.

So you see
what you are really doing
through surrender and feeling
is moving beyond the mind,
moving beyond
the thinking and the emotions
to what is really here,
to what is here before
the mind labels it and judges it.

You will feel humbled
by what is here,
you will feel completely
vulnerable to what is here,

but in this way,
you awaken to peace,
you awaken to love;

not as something
that you try to do,
but you awaken to
what is always already here.

Then you will experience
everything as the same bliss.
You will feel the bliss in resentment,
the bliss in rejection,
the bliss in loneliness,
the bliss in happiness.
It is all the same bliss.

It is all the same flow
of energy.

It is simply a matter of
truly allowing yourself
to feel what is here
without trying to change it
in any way.

If Only We Had Some Patience In A Bottle

By Anthon St Maarten

What is one of the most valuable commodities that anyone can possess in this day and age? What is the one precious thing we all seem to lack?

I believe that, given the opportunity, some of us would even trade all of our earthly possessions for a lifelong supply of this magical substance. It is the one thing that can secure us so much happiness, inner peace and long-term fulfillment.

Have you guessed what this ‘eighth wonder of the world’ is? Well, it is the virtue of patience, of course!

The Dutch say that “a handful of patience is worth more than a bushel of brains”. There is no doubt in my mind that should some genius be able to develop a magical formula to capture patience in a bottle, that person would overnight become the wealthiest and most famous person on the planet!

The patent holder for patience will not only rule the world, but will also put many of us out of work. The global service industry for one, will experience a major downturn in customer demand. With so many suddenly patient souls on the planet, there will be less need for some of the jobs that typically deal with the impulsive, hot-headed and intolerant side of human nature. If everyone could take a pill to become instantly longsuffering, many professionals would have to be made redundant, including Customer Complaints Managers, Divorce Lawyers, Emergency Room Nurses, Traffic Officers and, of course, Psychic Advisors.

The newly founded ‘Patience Company’ will no doubt become the most powerful corporation in the world. They would probably expand their range very quickly, to include tempting product variations like Patient Persistence, Peaceful Perseverance and Powerfully Present. These life changing potions will permanently alter our reality as we know it. It will in time deliver to us much of the joy and fulfillment so many of us desire.

Imagine the possibilities of having no more ‘road rage’ along your life path. There will be less broken relationships, less bad decisions, less spoilt chances…no more arguments, regrets, misunderstandings, impulsive assumptions, reckless behavior or jumping to ridiculous conclusions. No more sleepless nights. With true patience we will find it so easy to peacefully wait our turn; we will be content to give the cycles of life the benefit of the doubt.

With lasting patience in our pocket, we will no longer have the need to pressure the world around us to immediately comply with our needs; neither will we have the tendency to want to control everything. We will have lasting inner peace and we will simply trust in the flow of life. We will not have the compulsion to act impulsively, before we consider the future consequences of our words and deeds. We will have confidence in the successful outcomes of our manifested desires, even if it takes a hundred years to accomplish. We will accept that when we ask it will be given, one way or the other, and always when the time is right. We will intuitively know that everything is as it is intended to be, every second of every day. We will understand that the Law of Attraction is not the name of a fast-food restaurant!

Over the years, I have seen how a lack of patience, uncontrolled emotions and rash actions can crush dreams, destroy lives and wreak havoc in relationships. It does not surprise me that patience features as one of the most valued virtues in many religions, including Judaism, Islam and Christianity. Buddhism regards it as one of the perfections that must be achieved on the path to Enlightenment.

I constantly advise clients to remain calm, be patient and allow the future to unfold in its own time. To very little avail. Those who do heed my advice always reap the rewards in the end. But they are few and far between. Many simply cannot conquer the urge to act before the time is right; they find it hard to contain their emotions – be it anger, anxiety, desire or desperation. They do not see that patience is sometimes the best form of action. If only they would accept that the human ego is fueled by fear and petulant self-interest, and realize that when the ego takes over in any situation you are bound to get way ahead of yourself, and it will usually lead you to make a royal mess of things.

Patience is the antidote to the restless poison of the ego. Without it we all become ego-maniacal bulls in china shops, destroying our future happiness, as we blindly rush in where angels fear to tread. In these out-of-control moments, we bulldoze through the best possible outcomes for our lives, within a matter of minutes, only to return to the scene of the crime later… to cry over spilt milk. Then the process of picking up the pieces begins, trying in vain to salvage what may be left of the opportunities and future prospects we have now annihilated. More often than not the damage simply cannot be undone. How many times have I heard the sad words: “If only I had listened to your advice, if only I waited a little longer?”

Our lack of patience comes from our fear of the unknown, and our intolerance of uncertainty. We are reluctant to accept that nothing is ever certain or secure in our human experience. The only security we really do have in this lifetime is the knowledge that there is absolutely no certainty. There is no such thing as a ‘sure thing’ when it comes to the human condition, except for the fact that this lifetime will eventually come to an end for all of us. Sir Francis bacon said that “if we begin with certainties, we shall end in doubts; but if we begin with doubts, and we are patient in them, we shall end in certainties.”

Our increasingly fast-paced society and constant technological advancement also does not serve us well in the patience department. We like to call it ‘efficiency’ and ‘progress’, but how are we supposed to teach our children the virtue of patience when they live in a world where just about everything is easily accessible, and often instantly available? All it takes is one swipe of a credit card, or the click of a mouse button. No wonder we have so little forbearance, and zero perseverance.

Some of us have become so ridiculously impatient that we cannot even wait for the world to end in its own good time. Oh no, some of us demand an immediate apocalypse, be it this year or the next. And for those who are privileged to be chosen to survive there must be an 'instant DNA upgrade' included in the deal…non-negotiable! Immediate gratification is what we have come to expect and demand.

Meanwhile Planet Earth revolves around her axis unperturbed and Mother Nature patiently goes about her daily business, as she always has, doing her utmost to heal the damage and destruction we leave in our wake. She will continue to see us come and go, untroubled by our petty human dramas, whilst the Universe will continue to leisurely work in its many mysterious ways.

I deal with the aftermath of impatience almost every day in the work that I do, and I can assure you that there truly is wisdom in having some patience and fortitude. There is freedom to be found in letting go of our rigid, premature expectations. If only we could stop jumping up an down, and not try to drive square pegs into round holes. If only we could refrain from peeking at the cards of others, before they lay them out on the table, or quit tampering with the unripe fruit of our destiny. If only we could relinquishing our unyielding ideas of how things must be, and how quickly they must come to pass. If we could just cut loose and surrender to the boundless possibilities that await us. If we could just kick our heels up and run spontaneously wild with the mysteries of life. If only we had a some patience in a bottle….how smooth the ride would be!

How To Become A Strong Math Student

In my high school days, I had spent much time to study Number theory and other mysterious divisions of Math. My teacher was not only brilliant in Math, but also knew how to create a strong Math student. He taught Math using a discovery method that motivated exploration and guided us to become strong math students. Further, read this article to learn and know how you can be good at Math.

Create a fun atmosphere:

For me, environment is more potent than willpower. Indeed, a good surrounding motivates you to learn more and more, instead of boring you. If you feel boring when you do sums, then go to local heath Club/libraries every Saturday. Here, you can practice Math along with your friends and other fellow students, who bring joy in your mind and consecutively, you will enjoy doing sums ever.

Define Success:

It is often helpful to define success in your mind. Success for you might be to be good at solving algebra sums, studying the multiplication table, or even perhaps, to achieve a specific score in the Math exam. Or else, success may be an enlarged self-esteem or confidence, during the math exams. Be clear on what you wish to attain, note down the results as far as possible, review and modify them whenever needed, and surely you will excel in your way to Math success.

Develop Helpful Plan:

Once you define success to achieve, put it in action with simple calculation ideas such as:

a. Draw multiplication table, and say each table orally twice.

b. Look at the patterns mentioned in the table, which make things easier to learn.

c. Use scorecards such as flash cards to learn the fundamental Math facts.

d. Try to create own flash cards.

Identify Favoured Learning Style:

If you make up your mind for a particular and preferred learning manner, you would not find it difficult to learn Math at all. If you like numerous learning manners, then attempt a multi-sensory approach. This includes the following multiple approaches:

a. Using different kinds of colours to learn.

b. Using graphs, pictures, flowcharts, diagrams and other illustration tools.

c. Writing textual matter on a white panel.

d. Copying the textual matter into notebooks.

e. Orally saying what you are learning.

f. Explain to others or to yourself, what you have learned.

g. Using manipulative to pursue the kinaesthetic logic.

Suggestion for Teachers:

Do not go-it alone to help your students. Ask their friends, parents and others to help them out when they face problems in solving sums. Get some web sites and books as virtual approach to teach Math efficiently. If possible, join some online forums to share knowledge in this regard.

Things that you may find helpful to be a strong math student are:

1. Set routine timetable for doing sums. Unplug the telephone line and go away from PC while practicing Math to lessen distractions.

2. Have a regular space for doing sums. It could be your favourite room or even a specific table in the hall.

3. Collect your entire Math stuffs at one place. This includes pencils, pen, compass, sharpener, protractor, textbook, notebook and, homework project.

4. Write down the goals to obtain, so that you know what exactly you are intending to attain at your ideal learning place in the time that you have reserved.

Becoming a strong math student is in your hands, so be thorough with all above techniques to become a strong and intelligent math student. Best of luck!!!

Change your life!

Human beings are very often products of our environments. Whatever habits we are surrounded with are what we usually pick up as a kid. Our parents set the standard for us as kids at an early age when it comes to our nutritional habits. If people had more knowledge about nutrition and how to lead a healthy life style we wouldn’t have the problem we have today with obesity starting already at the age of 5 in our society. Knowledge is power and to have the power to make the right choices based upon your knowledge is what makes he difference in people’s life.

To make healthy conscious choices makes you feel very powerful and strong. You are in charge of your own healthy and your own lifestyle. Nobody likes to be the victim of his or her own environment.

Educate Your Family

Educate yourself and your family. Learn how to cook healthy meals for your children and your family. The more knowledge you have as an adult, he more you can pass on to your children and give them a healthy start in life.

Build a Support Group

If you are starting a strict diet, try to get the support from your family and friends. The more informed people around you are the more you can count on them to support you in your pursue of a healthy lifestyle.

Avoid Temptation

Clean out the cupboards in your kitchen and throughout everything that you shouldn’t eat. Create a new healthy kitchen for you and your family. Do not buy anything in the grocery store that is not on your diet. If you bring it home, you will end up eating it at a weak moment. The rule is very simple: If you shouldn’t eat it, don’t buy it!

Top Up On Tap

Bring a bottle of water with you everywhere you go whether it’s shopping, driving in your car, going to a meeting or just to work. Don’t let that water bottle leave your side all day. Keep drinking your water throughout the day.

Beat the Pavement

Take a walk around the block at night before you go to bed to clear your mind and to get some fresh air before you go to sleep. If you work in the city, take a 20 minutes’ walk at your lunch. It will relieve some stress and get your metabolism going. If you have the possibility to take a power nap nothing will recharge your batteries better then a 20-30 minutes catnap.

New Role Models

If you are trying to change old habits and create new healthy ones it can sometimes be hard to do it all alone. Try to find other people that are going through the same experience and share your thoughts with them.

New Activities

Pick up a new activity involving the whole family such as hiking, group exercise and outdoor activities in the park on the weekends. There is a lot offered if you just look around you a little.

Change Your Mind

Put little notes of motivational thoughts and other supporting words in your home in places where you will walk by them constantly. Changing your lifestyle takes discipline, energy, determination, motivation and will power but it can be done and the sooner you start to take that first step towards a healthier you the sooner you get to reap the rewards.

Get Personal

Join the nearest gym and book yourself a couple of sessions with a personal trainer. You will not only push yourself to go if you have an appointment with somebody but you will also learn so much more from a fitness professional then just how to use the exercise equipment.

A personal trainer can answer a lot of your health related questions and help you put a weekly lifestyle schedule together that would work for you. Starting out with a personal trainer also help you get to know more people at the fitness center that are trying to do the same thing as you are.

Prepare for New Environment

If you have never been to a health club it can be intimidating the first time. Go online and find out as much information you can before you go there or call them up and ask all the questions on forehand. That way you will be a little bit prepared once you step foot inside the fitness center.

Reading – A Fun!

Radhakrishnan Chettour

We learn how to read when we are very young, and from that age onwards it becomes an essential skill that we rarely think twice about. But there is more to reading than simply scooping up a paperback and picking up where we left off last time. Reading has the ability to change our lives in many different ways.

When did you last read for pleasure? It doesn’t matter whether it is fact or fiction, the effect can be the same – it lifts you out of your everyday life and into an alternative existence which can be very different from your regular daily routine. Fiction has the upper hand of course, because it has the ability to take you to places that may not even exist in real life.

But reading can also be something of a luxury and a way of de-stressing in today’s busy surroundings. Who hasn’t looked forward to sinking into a bath filled with bubbles with their favourite paperback in hand? Even taking a paperback onto the train with you to while away the time while you are on your way to work can set you up for the day ahead much more effectively than worrying about what may or may not happen. By taking yourself out of what could be a stressful situation you are giving yourself some respite and you’ll arrive for work feeling more refreshed as a result.

It’s also the case that the more you read, the more you learn and digest. This is true in two separate cases. Firstly you will learn more new words; regular readers tend to have a bigger vocabulary than those who rarely read at all. And secondly you will find that it expands your knowledge of all kinds of things. If there is something you want to learn, one of the best ways to learn it is by reading all about it. There is also something about reading and digesting the words on a page that is not comparable with any other form of storytelling. It can take you away into another place where your imagination rules the roost and dictates – along with the words the writer has written – exactly where you are and what everything looks like.

It’s a small wonder that so many people love to receive books as gifts, because they really can change your life if you let them, in more ways than one. The hardest part is choosing which one you should read first!
